Have you heard of the 3 bite rule? Mireille Guiliano talks about it in her book, French Women Don't Get Fat. She says if you want to indulge in something, limit yourself to three bites and then move on. In three bites you've experienced it.
Another webiste says something similiar: The first bite of something is the best, the second confirms it, and the third is to be savored. After that it's all downhill.
Makes sense to me. I'm definitely going to keep it in mind. I am still tracking all of my food through Weight Watchers and know those bites add up. Like those 55 bites of nachos the other day. Nachos with ground sirloin, queso, black beans, sour cream, cheese, pico and lots of love. I enjoyed every single bite. I looked up the WW points when I got home and found it was worth 31 points. Basically all my extra points for the whole week. My daily points are only 22. Will I choose the nachos again? Maybe not.
Big sigh. I love WW. It's a great way to gauge what you're really eating. Learn to prioritize. Honestly, I'm surprised I don't weigh 300 pounds. I LOVE TO EAT AND DRINK WINE. It's definitely my escape. My guaranteed feel good moment of the day. When you are tracking your food/points you do question how good that food or wine is really going to make you feel.
Would I rather be thin? Or would I rather be fat, happy and have big boobs. I think all who know me know the answer to that.

I love the 3-bite rule. It's perfect. I can often do with just one bite if it's someone else's food -- which can be very annoying to a spouse but can save many calories, not to mention expense. This also works for beer. One sip. Just a taste. I used to work with someone whose wife would always say "Let me have just one bite of your doughnut." Of course, I was young and thin and couldn't imagine how or better yet, why, anyone would only want one bite, but she was 50 and it's only now that I realize how incredibly wise she was. Not to mention, she was always slim.
